Environmental law encompasses a broad range of actions that relate to the environment. Often, environmental impacts must be assessed at the time of development and, if impacts cannot be avoided, they must be properly monitored and mitigated. Unfortunately, even despite best intentions, the environment can be detrimentally impacted, and various parties will be liable for rectification of those impacts. At SWS Lawyers, we can assist in understanding your obligations under the various pieces of environmental legislation. In particular, we can:
- advise on the environmental assessments and approval requirements for a development;
- assist with environmental due diligence;
- assist with compliance issues, including the disposal of waste and responding to regulatory investigations (including pollution investigations) undertaken by various authorities such as the NSW Environmental Protection Authority;
