16/04/20

SWS Lawyers is pleased to announce its corporate partnership with the 2022 Australian Deaf Games to be staged in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area (Games).

The 2022 Australian Deaf Games will be held from 16th – 22nd April 2022 and will welcome over 1000 deaf and hard-of hearing athletes from across the country to compete in various medal and demonstration sports.

SWS Lawyers has agreed to provide pro bono legal assistance to Australian Deaf Sports Federation Limited (trading as Deaf Sports Australia) and was today announced as the Honorary Legal Advisors for the Games.

The 2022 Games Organising Committee Chairperson, Leonie Jackson, said:

“We are honoured and appreciative of the commitment that SWS Lawyers have provided to the Games – we sincerely thank them for their support.”

At SWS Lawyers, we believe that our role in the community extends beyond the delivery of legal services to our corporate and private clients and we actively seek out opportunities to provide pro bono support to community organisations and events.

SWS Lawyers Managing Principal, Richard Suters, said:

“We are thrilled to be supporting this major national sporting event which will bring people from all over the country to the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area and provide an opportunity to show the nation the best of what our region has to offer.  At a time when the COVID-19 crisis has brought competitive sport to a virtual standstill across the country, the 2022 Australian Deaf Games gives us something positive to look forward to after these difficult times are behind us.”
