One of our consultants here at SWS Lawyers found a challenging way to raise awareness about youth mental health issues when he recently completed an amazing 3128 solo push ups in 21 days. The target represents the number of Australians who took their own lives during 2017.
Along with some friends from local charity EquiEnergy Youth, James Stevenson took part in the ‘Push-Up Challenge’, organised by the national headspace initiative, raising nearly $2.5 million for programs aimed at strengthening the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians.
EquiEnergy Youth was established by a number of mental health professionals associated with the University of Newcastle and local business people to support specialist community assistance to young people with mental health issues. SWS Lawyers has provided pro-bono legal work and James has recently been appointed to the organisation’s Advisory Board.
Great effort James! And thanks to all our many clients and associates who supported this worthwhile event.
As you can see, James is keeping up his training during a well-earned break in New Zealand!
