susan moran

Susan is an experienced and well respected commercial litigation practitioner and for 20 years has worked with clients as a dispute and litigation specialist.  Prior to joining SWS, Susan was a partner at a national firm.  She has corporate, consumer, insolvency, property, construction and employment dispute experience and regularly represents clients in the Federal and Supreme Courts as well as the Fair Work Commission.

Susan joins Elizabeth McDonald as the second promotion to principal/director for the SWS team in the past 12 months.  The firm has continued to grow through hard work and the loyalty and support of its clients.

Commenting on her promotion Susan said:

“We have worked hard to build a high quality offering at SWS.  We are fortunate to have a collaborative culture amongst not only our professionals but also with our clients with whom we seek to build lasting relationships.”

“SWS is not a typical regional legal practice.  We are very lucky that such a diverse and interesting group of businesses and entrepreneurs choose our firm for their legal advice and, as litigators, we are constantly challenged by complex and strategic work.  It is work you would see at the top Melbourne or Sydney firms.”

SWS Lawyers, Newcastle is also pleased to announce that Ead Izzard will be joining the firm as a Consultant with effect from 1 July 2017.  Ead (pronounced Ed) is a corporate and commercial lawyer with more than 15 years’ experience.  He advises clients on a wide range of IP commercialisation, corporate and commercial law matters.

Commenting on his appointment Ead said:

“The current refocus towards technology and innovation in Newcastle makes this a pivotal time for the city, as well as the broader Hunter Region.  My experience in the technology sector affords a wonderful opportunity to contribute to this initiative and to help start-ups and existing businesses develop and prosper in a changing local economy.”

“It’s an honour to be joining the dedicated and experienced team of professionals at SWS Lawyers.  They are a great fit for me and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues and adding to the depth of the firm’s capability, particularly in the Technology & IP practice area.”
